Play and Risk Assessment

Useful for anyone responsible for the Health and Safety of children, staff and visitors. The new National Standards state in standard 6 (Safety) that the inspector will look for the extent to which you are aware of potential hazards and are able to reduce risks both inside and outside.

This is a two day Health and Safety workshop, Dates to be advised.

The first day of the course will be information gathering sessions, investigating what policies and procedures are required by law and what good practice is, followed by kinetic handling awareness in childcare and play work.

The second day will include guidance as to how to make judgments about risk and play whilst ensuring that the provision is free from unacceptable risk by creating the best possible play environment for your provision.

Risk Taking and Managing it

The new National Standards state in standard 6 (Safety) that the inspector will look for the extent to which you are aware of potential hazards and are able to reduce risks both inside and outside.

This course will be useful for those working with children aged five and above. It will explore your attitudes to risk and how it affects your judgment. It will explore the use of risk assessment processes to help you provide the best possible play opportunities for children.

This course takes place at the Rufus Centre, Flitwick 10.00am - 14.00pm
