NSPCC EduCare Child Protection Awareness Programme
Course Aim
To provide accessible introductory child protection awareness training to everybody working with children.
Who should do this programme?
Anyone working with children especially those who have not yet completed any formal training on child protection.
Volunteers working with children; after school clubs; childminders; parent and toddler groups; play and activity projects; youth club staff; projects that provide support to families under pressure; help line volunteers; volunteers in church youth clubs; community workers; parents; ANYONE WHO WANTS TO KNOW MORE ABOUT CHILD PROTECTION.

By clearly and simply explaining what abuse is, this programme will help you to understand child protection issues from the very beginning.
It aims to help you identify when a child might be at risk by highlighting possible signs and indicators to watch out for.
The programme also contains a step-by-step action plan for you to follow if you are concerned about a child's welfare. By equipping you with the knowledge about who to report the situation to, it will also make sure you know how and when to take the necessary first step.
Pointers to good practice are also included, covering such topics as staff recruitment and training, making sure that everybody understands the importance of child protection.

How are the programmes delivered?
Once you enrol, you will receive your pack consisting of 4 modules, each of which comes complete with a simple multiple choice questionnaire for you to read through and complete.
Transfer your answers to the Personal Record Grid that comes with the programme so that when you return your questionnaire for marking, you have a record of your answers.
Return all 4 questionnaires to EduCare in the pre-paid envelope provided. They will be marked by EduCare and your scores will be feedback to you, together with answer explanations so you can check your answers.
Everybody who reaches the pass mark - 70% on each paper - receives an NSPCC certificate.
