Developing Childminding Practice
Developing Childminding Practice(DCP) is a 60 hour course run over several months at times to suit childminders working patterns. The DCP course includes assignments which reflect on childminding practice and considering ways of developing it. The course covers a broad range of skills and knowledge that all childminders need to take a professional approach to their job. Childminders who complete all assignments successfully and have attended the required number of course sessions will be awarded an NCMA/CACHE certificate.
The training program includes:
- Children's development and learning
- managing children's behavior
- caring for school-age children
- caring for babies and toddlers
- developing relationships with parents
- equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
- professional approach to childminding
- child protection
Course Dates
Courses are usually held at Bedford College, and in Biggleswade, usually for three hours per evening. Typically Cost is £87 + £30 cache registration fee. This cost is tax deductible and you may be able to obtain funding.
