County Representative
The County Representative plays a powerful role in representing childminders in their local area to the local authority as well as carrying childminders views to the NCMA regional committees. In this area this is the East Regional Committee, which consists of childminding associations representing all the local authorities within the following areas:
- Bedfordshire
- Cambrigeshire
- Essex
- Hertfordshire
- Luton
- Norfolk
- Peterborough
- Sothend-on-Sea
- Suffolk
- Thurrock
Many issues have been raised, discussed and in some cases challenged at local and central government level to promote quality care and education for children in their care and for the benefit of professionalism within childminding. The representative can bring the needs of their local community into the wider picture of childminding countywide. Childminders can unite to speak as one voice, through their county rep. A collective opinion is much harder to ignore.
