Tax and National Insurance
All registered childminders were invited to attend. This useful seminar was delivered by several representatives from the Inland Revenue Department.
Topics covered included:
- Working Tax Credit
- Self Assessment
- How to make the most of Allowances
- What can and cannot be claimed as expenses
- National Insurance
There was also a question and answer session where many questions related to tax and national insurance were answered.
Members that attended this session will be confident in keeping accurate records of income and expenditure and avoiding paying too much tax, if any at all, and without the need for a accountant.
Childminders are required by law to keep these records to support the figures entered on their tax returns.
