Fire Safety Training

Fire prevention and planning are important to childminder's in complying with the National Standards. Childminder's need to know how to take safety precautions and what to do in the event of a fire.

The LBCMA liased with our local Fire Station who kindly offered to run a fire safety course.

The excellent course was delivered by Bedfordshire's Fire and Safety Officer, Gus Cuthbert and included planning for survival and emergency evacuations, fire prevention and detection and using a fire blanket.

The course covered many practical suggestions and held a captive audience.

In total 29 childminders attended, including several in the process of registering. We also had representatives from Dunstable and Milton Keynes. We hope this wonderful course will be available in surrounding areas soon.
